Lisandra Di Liberto

Lisandra Di Liberto is fascinated by all types of art. Originally from Puerto Rico, her eye is automatically drawn to the bright blues, reds and oranges of her hometown Hatillo. Liberto attended the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico where she majored in marketing. She also studied at Escuela de Bellas Artes in Santana. It wasn’t until recently that she began to tap into her artistic roots, having a Peruvian father who draws and other Italian family members that paint and sculpt in Peru. Liberto lives in Shreveport, Louisiana. She mainly paints with acrylic, but also specializes in bead and jewelry work. When it comes to her creations, she draws inspiration from artistic greats such as Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso and Salvador Dali.

“I have lived all my life in front of or near the sea; I loved to go to bed and hear the waves of the ocean. The beach is my favorite place to sit and enjoy the sun and to see the blue water. I like to travel and experience different cultures (architecture, language, food, history). I drink coffee daily; I can not miss that in the my mornings. I also love photography, painting and decorating. I want to create sub realistic painting which carry a message that people can identify with. Ones that you do not say, ‘Wow, that’s cute,’ but you actually see something more. I want to create a story right through my paintings that is positive. Decorating is also very important to me because I like to create an environment that makes you feel at home and comfortable with your surroundings and with decorating I can incorporate my paintings and knowledge of colors.”
