Our mission is to showcase the rich and beautiful history of the Latino culture through stunning visual art.
The Latino Art Project began with it’s first show in September of 2015 at the Argenta United Methodist Church. The show was organized by Will Hogg with all proceeds going to benefit Seis Puentes Hispanic Outreach and Argenta’s Art Connection. The timing was coordinated to celebrate National Hispanic Month (September 15 – October 15) while giving talented artists well-deserved exposure to the public. The exhibition resulted in many sold pieces of work, education about the benefiting charities, the coming together of a diverse community of people, as well as the awareness of the “Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art” exhibition at the Arkansas Arts Center currently running from October 16, 2015 – January 17, 2016.
This exhibition featured the works of thirteen local and regional artists who’s works celebrate Latino culture. The works were diverse in style and subject, but all carrying the common tie of the beauty of the Latino heritage.
Featured artists do not have to be Arkansans to participate, nor do they have to be Latino. The artist’s work should simply be a celebration of the Latino culture. If you are interested in being part of The Latino Art Project, please feel free to visit our Contact page and let us know who you are.
